“IT’S amazing
HOW EASY THE DECISION BECAME.”
With
three grown sons living across the country, Barb and Nick Altiero were ready to
move
from their
3,000-square-foot family home along with their two dogs, Shi and Syd.
What was your first impression of Athertyn?
Barb:
When we walked in, we both thought ‘this is the
place.’
Nick:
Athertyn has everything we had back home, and
now we
don’t
have to take care of it.
Which home floor plan did you choose?
Nick:
We chose a Clairemont. The common living space
is open
and
modernized — it’s actually more spacious than our colonial
house,
which was very boxed off.
Tell us about some of the experiences you’re sharing.
Barb:
We enjoy playing on the Athertyn pickle ball
team, using
the
fitness center and swimming in the heated pool. We also go to
many of the social events
at the Clubhouse.
How else is living at Athertyn better than your last home?
Nick:
My favorite thing is that I get to take the
trash out and get
the
mail and newspaper in my socks!
Has the maintenance-free lifestyle given you more time to
pursue any favorite pastimes?
Barb:
We go to a lot of concerts; music is our hobby.
Our front
hallway
is lined with framed music posters.
Has anything surprised you?
Nick:
Our old neighborhood had a lot of turnover with
young
families
moving in. The new friendships we’ve made here… that’s
turned out to be a real
treasure.
