Athertyn Named Best in the Nation Award-winning Lifestyle Captures Gold

Demand for luxury living communities geared towards the Boomer generation is the real estate market’s latest trend, according to the National Association of Home Builders’ 50+ Housing Council. Affluent adults are looking to enrich their lives by devoting more time to their favorite pursuits. And they’re achieving this dream by ‘right-sizing’ their homes and trading maintenance responsibilities for a ‘lock and leave’ lifestyle.

Athertyn at Haverford Reserve is not only the region’s #1 selling luxury condominium community of its kind; it’s also the #1 of its kind in the country. This January, the National Association of Home Builders awarded Athertyn its prestigious Gold Award for the 2013 Best 50+ Lifestyle Housing Award. The jury panel, comprised of 16 industry experts, singled out Athertyn — from all nationwide entries — for its array of exclusive amenities and impeccable construction with full capability for custom-grade personalization.

Set in the beautiful 209-acre Haverford Reserve, near the intersection of College Avenue and Darby Road in Haverford, Athertyn offers spacious, upscale condominiums featuring classic Main Line architecture with steel and concrete construction. The Pohlig organization, an esteemed builder of custom homes in Philadelphia’s western suburbs, designed 13 open floor plans for the multi-building project. The models range in size from 1,600 to nearly 3,000 square feet, and are priced from the mid-$400,000s to more than $1 million. Buyers are able to completely personalize their home to reflect their needs and wishes. Many of the models include a covered terrace offering picturesque views of quiet woods and manicured grounds.

“Gold Award Living” at Athertyn is epitomized by the numerous amenities that the homeowners enjoy within their private community. The showcase amenity is the Clubhouse featuring a modern fitness center with locker rooms; an executive style library/conference room; a beautifully appointed clubroom with billiards, and additional rooms for easy socializing. Outdoor recreation includes the heated pool, tennis court, putting green, and walking/bicycling trails.

On Sunday, May 19, from Noon to 4pm, the public is invited to experience ‘Gold Award Living’ at the Athertyn Sales & Design Center, located at 5109 Parkview Drive in Haverford. Attendees will meet Todd and Don Pohlig and the Athertyn team; tour the model homes and amenities; as well as learn more about the maintenance-free lifestyle.
