Athertyn Pursuits Spring 2012 - A Private, Active Community

Occupying the highest point in Haverford Township, Athertyn has welcome breezes and lovely views of verdant woods and manicured landscapes. For those who appreciate open space and natural beauty, this is your community.

Drive up the tree-lined boulevard to Athertyn and enter a remarkable lifestyle experience. Park the car in your reserved space in the underground garage and take the private entry elevator up to your floor. Once inside your home, enjoy complete privacy and undisturbed quiet as you gaze from your terrace at songbirds nesting in white birch trees.

When you’re ready for good times and engaging conversations, venture over to the private clubhouse at Athertyn for a mixer or to meet up with a workout partner. Outdoors you can nurture plants in the community gardens, perfect your form on the putting green, play tennis, and take a brisk walk or bike ride on miles of trails. Of course, you’re also an easy drive from all the best on the Main Line, whether it’s visiting family and friends, shopping, dining, or returning to another favorite destination.

Freedom to Pursue
Your Life’s Interests Athertyn at Haverford Reserve promotes a “pick up and go” way of life, which simply means you finally have the freedom you’ve always wanted. Residents head out on vacation or to a second home without the fuss that’s involved in leaving a single-family house. No security issues. No maintenance worries. And if you have a special need, such as pet sitting or airport transportation, or you want someone to check on your residence while you’re gone, the dedicated Concierge Service is just a phone call away.

Come and Socialize… or Enjoy the Solitude
Living at Athertyn provides you with a nice balance between the privacy you crave and opportunities to socialize. The residents are fascinating people to know. They have diverse careers, backgrounds, and life stories yet share common interests and values that make them ideal neighbors.

The place to gather is the clubhouse, reserved for residents and their guests. This beautifully appointed space makes it easy to meet friends for a bridge game, a casual movie night, or an impromptu happy hour. In addition to the club room with its handsome bar, billiard table and flat screen televisions, there is a traditional game room as well as an executive style library and conference room. Also, the great room with its adjoining catering kitchen can accommodate parties of all sizes — when it’s not being used by someone teeing off on the indoor high-definition golf simulator.
Another wing of the clubhouse is devoted to the fitness center and club style locker rooms. Here, residents have exclusive use of state-of-the-art exercise machines with individual FiOS TVs and scenic views through 6' windows. Outside, a swimming pool with Jacuzzi invites you to take a dip or relax on the patio after playing a match on the tennis court.

Athertyn's amenities include a luxurious clubhouse with fitness center, library and conference room, as well as a pool, tennis court and miles of nature trails.

With all there is to do in the community, Athertyn’s Lifestyle Coordinator feels like the social director on the old Love Boat television show. Participation is growing in the Garden Club and Book Club as well as Yoga classes and Ladies’ Nights. “I organize a lot of activities for the residents and let them know about events going on in the area,” she says. “The more residents, the more fun we have.”
